Our Story

DSB Photography was built on faith, family, and a whole lot of obedience — learning to trust God even when the path ahead felt unfamiliar. This journey has never been about just one of us; it has always been about our family saying “yes” together. Our roots run deep in Rayne, Louisiana — Cajun Country — where faith, family, and community shaped who we are.

Several years ago, after much prayer, we felt the Lord leading our family to step away from the familiar and move to Texas. In June 2020, we packed up our lives, leaving behind nearly everything and everyone we knew. At the time, our world felt turned upside down — except for one God-orchestrated family who walked alongside us as we learned to trust Him in the unknown. During those years, we planted ourselves with a church family in Galveston as well as a great homeschool community near Houston, growing together and leaning fully into God’s direction for our family. After two years in Texas and continued prayer, we once again felt the Lord leading — this time to Florida.

On April Fools’ Day 2022 (a date we’ll never forget), we became Floridians, and still love living here today, trusting that God’s plans are always best, even when they don’t always make sense on paper. Later that same year, in November 2022, what is now DSB Photography began as Simply Grace Focused Photography. It started with a desire placed on my heart — and with my husband, Ian, believing in me and encouraging me to step out and simply “see what happens with this passion with photography.” The very next day, while I was casually taking photos on the beach as our kids were hanging out, a friend asked if I would photograph her family. That simple YES became the spark that started it all. Soon after, a vision formed — not just of photographs, but of meaningful artwork created from our sessions becoming part of people’s homes and lives. Through volunteering, learning, growing, and yes, failing at times and growing from those mistakes, I continued to develop both creatively and personally. In January 2025, I entered a photography institute where I connected with photographers from all over the world. That season stretched me in a new way — not only in skill, but in business building — and it marked an important turning point. In 2025, our name changed to DSB Photography as I stepped into being a full-time Photographer, reflecting both growth and clarity of vision. With that came an expanded dream: not only photography, but experiences — including a Photo Booth and a future mobile studio.

In the spring of 2026, we added our Mirror Me Photo Booth to our services, and our mobile studio's transformation will be coming along soon for future use. (And yes — we’ll be sure to let y’all know when it’s ready!)

What began as family photography has naturally grown to include children of all ages, graduates, headshots and lifestyle, a variety of event photography as well.

Ohhh and in mid-2025, something else the Lord placed on my heart was the importance of community within the creative industry. Out of that desire, a collaborative group for photographers began, including videographers, and drone pilots — creating space for connection, encouragement, and collaboration both locally and with creatives across the U.S. Supporting others in the same field and working together rather than in isolation is something I deeply value.

DSB Photography is led by me, Denise, as the primary photographer, with my husband, Ian, serving as my partner. In addition to supporting the business behind the scenes and on-site, Ian is a licensed journeyman electrician with a local electrical company — bringing a strong foundation of technical skill, safety awareness, and professionalism to everything we do. He assists with Photo Booth operations, administrative support, and all the heavy lifting. Our son assists with photo sessions when he’s able, and our daughter steps in when needed, helping with sessions and administrative work. What we do is truly a family effort. Jesus is the center of our family and our business — we don’t do life without Him, and we don’t do business without Him either.

Our mission is simple: to serve others well, create meaningful experiences, and deliver timeless artwork that tells real stories with heart. From Cajun roots to Florida sunshine, we’re honored to serve, grateful for every story we’re invited into, and excited to continue this journey — one moment at a time. DSB Photography isn't just about a photo, it's a space where you are seen, known, and loved- YOU matter!!!
